The GhostBed Signature Hybrid is a balanced, medium-firm mattress—just a tad bit firmer than the Signature Foam, but pretty comparable. As with most hybrids, you’ll feel the slight bounce of the coils as they respond to your movements, tempered by the contouring foam layers closest to your body.

While individual preferences may vary, we usually recommend a medium to soft (plush) mattress for side sleepers. When you’re on your side, you’re adding extra pressure on your shoulders and hips; a moderately plush mattress like the GhostBed Luxe will contour your body, alleviating your pressure points while still providing adequate support.

Great news! Your GhostBed mattress never needs to be flipped, since the memory foam comfort layers are on the top side. To increase the longevity of the mattress, we recommend rotating the mattress 180 degrees or head-to-toe every 3 months.

Most people spend a good amount of time researching before buying a mattress for their bedroom. It makes sense—you’re about to spend every night on it! But isn’t vacay sleep just as important? Make the right choice for your RV by considering the following:

• What size do you need?
• Do you have any sizing limitations in your RV, such as a bunk bed style or a cut corner?
• What types of mattresses do you like?
• What “extras” do you like—cooling features, pillowtop, etc.?
• Is there a trial period, in case the mattress doesn’t fit your comfort needs?
• Is there a solid warranty, for peace of mind?

Great question! Although you can find RV-specific bedding, you can easily adapt our cooling mattress protector to the GhostBed RV. With our signature 2” elastic band around it, it’ll stay in place perfectly.

We recommend getting the regular sheet size that corresponds to your mattress; our luxury cooling bed sheets have a 2” elastic band around the fitted sheet edges to keep them in place, so even though the short queen mattress is a tad bit shorter, they’ll still fit perfectly. Simply tuck the top sheet in, and you’re all set.

Like other high-end memory foam products, there may be a slight smell after you unbox the mattress. The initial smell is similar to a new pack of tennis balls or a new car. It’s normal and harmless, and will disappear with time!

At this time we do not offer White Glove delivery for the GhostBed RV. But don’t worry—since it comes in a vacuum-packed box, it’s actually pretty easy to move! Just enlist a friend to help you bring the box into your RV.

All GhostBed mattresses are compressed and vacuum-packed, and are delivered by FedEx. This means that your mattress will arrive in a much smaller box than you’re probably expecting. Don’t be alarmed! Our cutting-edge technology allows us to safely compress the bed for shipping.

As soon as you unpack your mattress, it will expand to its normal size. And watch it open—you’ll like what you see!

After delivery, you can keep the mattress in the box for up to 6 months. For the best results, open your mattress before then to ensure the best results when expanding it to its proper shape and size.

Yes! We use premium memory foam that’s designed to withstand temperature fluctuations without losing quality or performance. Keep in mind that memory foam is temperature-sensitive, however, so it’ll feel a lot firmer if it’s very cold. Warmer temperatures will soften it up to its intended feel.

The GhostBed Massage is like nothing you’ve ever experienced! As you start your massage, you'll feel the air cells beneath you inflating and deflating. You can choose from a variety of preset programs, like gentle rolling and waves. Play around to find what you like! 

The pressurized air works to compress and decompress your muscles, which can help stimulate local blood flow. Dial up the intensity for a similar stretch to a foam roller, or keep it low-intensity as a way to relax and soothe sore areas. 

Keep in mind it’s a little different from a deep-tissue massage at a spa or the percussive movements you might be used to from a massage chair. Air pressure massage might be a new sensation for you, but we know you’re going to love it.

Nope! The air cells in the Ghost Massage layer are soft, thin and undetectable when there aren’t any programs running. All you’ll feel is the ultra-comfortable (and cooling) cover and the cushiony, pressure-relieving foam layers beneath you.

All the components are sewn securely into the mattress, except for the control boxes and the air tube connector. There are just a few steps you’ll need to do after you’ve unboxed everything.

While your mattress is decompressing, here are the steps you’ll take:

1. Connect the air tubes in the mattress to the control box. 
2. Plug the control box into an outlet.
3. Repeat with the other air tubes and control box.
4. Press the power button on each remote.

That’s it! You can tuck the control boxes under your bed so they’re out of the way. Once your mattress has fully decompressed, it’s time to try out the massage settings!

Note: Twin XL mattresses have one massage unit inside, so you’ll have one control box and hose.

The GhostBed Massage pairs perfectly with our premium GhostSheets and water-resistant GhostProtector. The signature GhostGrip elastic band on our sheets grips your mattress securely, even when the air cells are fully inflated. 

With the dual-sided design, you'll just need to choose a side of the bed (left or right) for the best massage experience. Then, you can position yourself in whatever way you’d like—back, side or stomach—to spot-treat certain areas.

Note: Twin XL mattresses have one massage unit inside. 

Your mattress will need to stay head-up to keep the massage unit connected, so there is no need to rotate it. 

Nope! You’ll just need an open electrical outlet within five feet of your bed so you can connect the control boxes. We recommend using a surge protector if you’re planning to use our luxury Adjustable Base with your mattress, as then you’ll need a total of three open outlets.

The GhostBed Massage offers a unique mattress experience with built-in air pressure massage. With this type of massage, air cells directly below you inflate and deflate to apply soft pressure and gently stretch your muscles. 

The Adjustable Base, on the other hand, uses vibration technology. The motor is located on the base, but it’s powerful enough that you can feel it all the way through your mattress. You can choose between head or foot, multiple preset modes, and 3 intensities to customize your experience.

They both feel amazing, so it’s up to you to find your preference! 

While the GhostBed Massage is a higher initial investment than a trip to the spa, it ends up saving you money in the long run. 

If you use your GhostBed Massage just once daily, your massage works out to about a dollar a day (or even less!) on average. Meanwhile, a massage at the spa typically costs about $100 (US).

If your remote is fully charged and still not working, it may need to be re-paired to your control box. Press the “Home” button. Scroll down and select “Settings” and then select “Bluetooth.” Select the network code that is marked on the bottom of your control box.

If you’re trying to deflate the air cells, make sure the remote is unplugged from the control box. It will not deflate if it’s plugged in.

Traditional heat therapy (from thermal baths to heating pads) has been used for thousands of years, but only recently has technology advanced to allow the direct use of far infrared light as a source of energy for health benefits. FIR therapy is a controlled use of specific frequencies of light waves that can be directed at the body to elicit physical reactions that promote health and wellness. These therapies have traditionally been administered via far infrared saunas or lamps.

While you may have seen other products with FIR-emitting minerals woven directly into fabrics and textiles, GhostBed is the first to actually infuse our blend of minerals into our gel memory foam. Here at GhostBed, we don’t take any shortcuts when it comes to long-lasting comfort and durability. The same goes for our far infrared technology. Because the FIR technology is infused into the mattress’s gel memory foam, it won’t deplete or diminish in effectiveness over time, like some textiles (e.g. clothing) with similar technology can.

If you’ve ever spent time in a traditional sauna, you know how sweaty they can get. FIR therapy, on the other hand, uses light to “warm” your body, but without the sweat. Instead of heating up the air around you (as in a sauna), this far infrared light stimulates your muscles right at the source. The GhostPillow - Gel Memory Foam was the first in our GhostPillow collection, and it’s a best-seller to this day. Its patented design keeps you at a neutral temperature for comfortable sleep. Hot sleepers love it, but it works for everyone!

Most customers describe the GhostPillow - Gel Memory Foam as a medium loft, but even that can feel too high or too thick for some. One option is to position the pillow so it’s supporting more of your shoulders, not just your head. This will keep your chin from dipping down to your chest.

You might also prefer the GhostPillow - Shredded, which is our adjustable pillow. You can add or remove the soft inner fill to customize its loft.

Many of our customers tell us their neck and shoulder pain disappeared after they switched to the GhostPillow! While this kind of pain can be due to a number of reasons, choosing the right pillow is a big factor. 

Side sleepers, especially, need a higher-density pillow (like the GhostPillow) to keep their body aligned. Back sleepers will also appreciate the medium loft, which supports your head without overextending it.

Absolutely! The GhostBed Adjustable Base will fit anywhere that a regular foundation or box spring does, as long as there is a clear opening for the base to drop down into. Your adjustable power base will arrive at your door pre-assembled with just a few additional steps required. Simply unbox the folded frame on the floor upside down, slide the locking frame bolts to keep the mechanism in place and then attach the legs and retainer bar. That’s it! Traditional king size beds and bases are very large and can be difficult to maneuver and set up. No, your GhostBed Adjustable Base replaces your box spring/foundation. Your mattress is placed directly on top of the base. If you have a bed with side rails, the base fits inside most bed frames.

You also don’t need a separate frame. The base is free-standing and sits directly on the floor.

At this time, we do not offer a sleep trial on our bed frames, including the Adjustable Base. But don't worry—your base will pair perfectly with any other mattress you choose, whether it's a GhostBed or not! All sales are final.

The GhostBed Adjustable Base comes with 3-piece customizable legs, so you choose the height that works best for you! Each leg section is 4", giving you a choice of 4", 8" or 12" total height. The base itself will also add a few inches:

• With 12" legs: 14" from floor to top of base
• With 8" legs: 10" from floor to top of base
• With 4" legs: 6" from floor to top of base

With all that moving up and down, you might be wondering if an adjustable base is bad for your mattress. But as long as you’re using a compatible mattress, you’ve got nothing to worry about! 

Ideally, you’ll want a mattress that’s a bit flexible. While most memory foam or latex beds these days will fit the bill (as well as ALL GhostBed mattresses), some older innerspring options might not work as well. If you’re not sure, give us a call and we can help.

Side sleepers can absolutely benefit from an adjustable base, especially if you’re dealing with heartburn or pain around your pressure points (shoulders, hips or neck). While you won’t want to elevate quite as high as a back sleeper would, that’s the beauty of our base—you can manually adjust the head and feet to find a position that’s comfortable for you. We recommend pairing the adjustable base with a slightly-softer memory foam mattress that contours to your body shape (like the GhostBed Luxe) for a comfortable night of sleep!

Technically, no. These days, some people use the term “box spring” interchangeably with bed foundation, but they are actually two different things. 

A box spring refers to a wooden box filled with coiled springs that are tied down and covered with cloth. It’s meant to be used with a traditional innerspring mattress. A mattress foundation, on the other hand, refers to a base that’s either solid or slatted. It may or may not require a bed frame along with it. (Ours does not!)

We consider our All-in-One Foundation™ to be a “box spring alternative,” providing the same benefits but designed to be a better match for your memory foam, latex or hybrid mattress. Here’s the breakdown:

• Mattress protectors: Typically thick and made of plastic, designed to protect your mattress from fluids, bed bugs and allergens.
• Mattress pads: Typically thin and designed to add a layer of soft comfort to an otherwise-firm mattress.
• Mattress toppers: Sometimes used interchangeably with mattress pads, but toppers tend to be a bit of an upgrade. You’ll also see a variety of materials used, including down, latex and memory foam.

You may have heard the recommendation to choose a weighted blanket that’s about 10% of your body weight. While safety is certainly a consideration—your blanket should not be too heavy for you to move, for example—keep in mind that this is simply a recommendation! The 15 lb weight is the perfect “sweet spot” for most adults. Plus, it pairs well with the generous queen size, allowing the glass bead fill to stay evenly distributed at all times.

Note: At the 15 lb weight, we do not recommend this blanket for kids or adults under 80 lbs. Please keep away from children and pets.

The GhostBed Weighted Blanket should be spot cleaned only. Use warm water and a gentle detergent, and then lay flat to dry. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean.

No, standard delivery is only to your front door. The carrier is only responsible for bringing your purchase that far. You’ll need to personally bring it inside and set it up. They may even leave your items at your door if you are not home, so plan to be home for your delivery if possible. 

If you’d like the extra help, you can opt for our White Glove Delivery. For an extra fee, we’ll handle the heavy lifting—including setting up your mattress or base, and removing your old mattress!

However, there are “dual-eligible” products that can be used for general health and wellness or for specific medical purposes—if recommended by a healthcare provider based on your individual needs. Take iron supplements, for example; many use them to support their overall health. Yet, for someone with anemia, iron supplements become crucial. In such cases, individuals can use their FSA/HSA funds if their healthcare provider issues an LMN, recommending the supplements specifically to address their anemia.

You can request a Letter of Medical Necessity through our partner, Truemed. If you’re approved, you’ll be able to check out using your FSA/HSA funds for your qualified purchase. 

To request an LMN to purchase GhostBed products, you will:

• Complete an intake form, similar to how you would at a doctor’s office
• Chat with a certified healthcare provider via text message for further evaluation

Once you have your LMN in hand, you can return to GhostBed and shop as usual. During checkout, you’ll simply select the Truemed method to use your HSA/FSA funds.

To see if you’re a candidate for a Letter of Medical Necessity, Truemed's healthcare team will need some basic information from you. Similar to other telehealth experiences, you’ll be asked to share your name, contact information, date of birth, information about the symptoms you are experiencing, and your medical history. We will also verify your phone number and ask you to upload a photo ID to verify your identity. This pre-qualification process takes about 3 minutes.

Generally it takes 24-48 hours. In some cases, Truemed’s provider team will require additional time to issue a letter of medical necessity based on the needs associated with an individual qualification survey. If you aren’t seeing your letter in your inbox, check spam, then reach out to us at support@truemed.com for help.

The information you provide in the LMN process will be kept confidential and shared only with Truemed's healthcare providers to evaluate your eligibility for an LMN. For more information, see Truemed's Privacy Policy. 

Letters of Medical Necessity are valid for 12 months from the day they are signed and written.

If you would prefer to use your own credit card at checkout, you’ll need to submit your receipt and a copy of your LMN to your plan for reimbursement.

To do this:

• Log into your FSA/HSA account on your benefit administrator’s website 
• Find the Reimbursement or Claims section 
• Upload your receipt and Letter of Medical Necessity

Your administrator will process and evaluate your claim. Please note that some FSA/HSA benefits administrators may incorrectly deny reimbursement, so before purchasing a product with an LMN you should consider contacting your administrator to determine if your purchases will be covered/reimbursed.

No problem! Truemed can check your balance and use that amount, and then you can put the remaining amount on a credit card or debit card.

There’s an art and a science to designing a mattress—and it’s something we’ve mastered with our 20+ years of creating them. You can typically break a mattress into two sections: the “support layers” (the base) and the “comfort layers” (at the top). Luxury and higher-quality mattresses will have multiple layers that make up each section.

The specific materials, as well as the order of the layers, will impact how the mattress feels. Softer materials toward the top of the mattress will offer a slightly plusher feel, for example, like in the case of our GhostBed Luxe Foam. At the base of the mattress, look for sturdy and supportive materials like high-density base foam and/or springs.

Twin XL mattresses are on the smaller side of your size options, with one key difference between an XL and a regular twin. A twin XL is slightly longer, making it a good option if you have a taller stature or if you want some extra space for a small pet at the foot of your bed.

The dimensions of a full (or "double") size mattress are 54 inches wide by 74 inches long. Compare this to a twin’s 38 inches in width, for a whopping 16 extra inches to spread out. It’s still much smaller than a queen size mattress, however, with the latter clocking in at 60” x 80”.

Yes, two people can fit on a full mattress—but it’s not ideal. The width of a full mattress is 54 inches, which means each person would get 27 inches of space. If you’re OK with getting cozy, it can work! If you prefer to stretch out, however, you may want to go with a larger mattress size.

Twin and full mattresses are similar in length (75 and 74 inches, respectively), but offer a very different experience in terms of width! With 16 extra inches to spread out on a full mattress, it’s the preferred choice for single adults. If you’re tall, however, you may want to go with a twin XL or queen mattress, both 80 inches long.

Queen mattresses are 60 inches wide by 80 inches long, a size that makes it ideal for couples. Single sleepers who love to stretch out, roll around, or sleep with a pet will love the extra space.

If you have a large bedroom and/or plan to share your bed with a partner, you’re likely choosing between a king or a queen mattress. The decision will come down to just how much space you really want! 

At 60 inches wide and 80 inches long, the queen is the smaller of the two. Compare that to the king mattress, at 76 by 80. While a king mattress will cost a bit more, it’ll be worth the investment if you need the extra width.

The dimensions of a king mattress are 72 inches wide by 84 inches long. It’s slightly narrower and a bit longer than a traditional king bed, perfect for taller people who need additional leg room.

What is a split king mattress, exactly? Size-wise, they’re exactly the same; the main difference is that a split king is actually made up of 2 twin XL mattresses, placed side by side. There are a couples of reasons to choose the split king option:

Great news! Your GhostBed mattress never needs to be flipped, since the memory foam comfort layers are on the top side. To increase the longevity of the mattress, we recommend rotating the mattress 180 degrees or head-to-toe every 3 months.
