Eco-friendly, durable, gentle on the skin, silky-soft and breathable... what more could you ask for? Made with the same fabric as our best-selling GhostSheets, the cover feels luxurious and keeps you cool even if you cuddle up burrito-style.
Premium Glass Microbeads
While other blankets use lumpy plastic pellets (think: ’90s bean bag animals) to provide weight, we filled ours with tiny & smooth glass beads for an eco-friendly, higher-end feel that better conforms to your body.
Quilted Design
We ditched the fabric glue that some companies use and opted for high-quality double-stitching to keep everything in place. With 5 layers and a whopping 192 individual quilted squares, the fill stays evenly distributed without any annoying bunching.

What Are the Benefits of a Weighted Blanket?
There are SO many benefits that it’s hard to name them all! Weighted blankets are best known, however, for providing a science-backed technique called “deep pressure stimulation.” This practice has long been used by occupational therapists to help patients reduce stress and anxiety, particularly those with autism or other sensory processing disorders.
Weighted blankets offer the same effect—very similar to the feeling you get from a comforting hug or when a baby gets swaddled—by including a mid-weight filling inside the blanket. The gentle pressure helps lower your heart rate, as well as reduce cortisol (the hormone that’s released when you’re feeling stressed) and increase serotonin & oxytocin (the “feel-good” hormones).
Studies also show that weighted blankets can help you fall and stay asleep. Pretty cool, right? When you combine all these benefits with the cooling, luxurious feel you get with our weighted blanket, you’ll wonder how you ever lived (or slept) without it.

Will the GhostBed Weighted Blanket Really Keep Me Cool?
We know, we know… it sounds hard to believe. If you’ve ever covered yourself with a heavy winter blanket and woken up in a pool of sweat, we hear you. So how does it work? The magic is in the TENCEL™, a revolutionary fabric we’ve come to love here at GhostBed (our cooling sheets are made with it too!).
While other weighted blankets are designed with moisture-trapping “minky” fabric or heat-generating micro-fleece, our cover is 100% TENCEL™. With a plant-based origin, the fiber is extracted using an extremely eco-friendly closed-loop system. This fabric has a whole host of outstanding properties, including temperature regulation, breathability and superior moisture absorption. Plus, it offers a silky-smooth texture that feels ahhh-mazing against your skin.
Note: The blanket includes duvet loops if you’d like to add your own cover, but keep in mind that depending on the fabric of the duvet, you may lose some of the cooling properties.
Is This a Throw Blanket or a Comforter?
At a larger size than most other weighted blankets, you can use the GhostBed Weighted Blanket as either a throw blanket OR a comforter. It’s perfect for 1 or 2 people, so you can nap solo or snuggle up with a partner.
What Provides the Weight of the Blanket?
Plastic poly pellets, sand, glass beads, steel shot beads and even dried food (like rice and beans) are all commonly used inside weighted blankets. We opted for premium glass microbeads for a few reasons:
- Fewer glass beads are needed to provide weight, which allows for a thinner and less bulky blanket overall
- Glass offers a smooth feel with no lumps, which is ideal for those with sensory sensitivities
- Glass beads don’t retain heat like plastic can, so the blanket stays cooler
- Glass does not have any off-gassing odors, like some plastic pellets have
- Glass is a more durable and environmentally-friendly option, so you can feel great about helping the planet while you’re at it!
Why Doesn't the Weighted Blanket Come in Other Sizes?
You may have heard the recommendation to choose a weighted blanket that’s about 10% of your body weight. While safety is certainly a consideration—your blanket should not be too heavy for you to move, for example—keep in mind that this is simply a recommendation! The 15 lb weight is the perfect “sweet spot” for most adults. Plus, it pairs well with the generous queen size, allowing the glass bead fill to stay evenly distributed at all times.
Note: At the 15 lb weight, we do not recommend this blanket for kids or adults under 80 lbs. Please keep away from children and pets.

The GhostBed Weighted Blanket is designed and engineered in the United States. While we would have loved to keep production in the U.S., our number one goal was creating the highest quality blanket. To do this, we work with a weaving and finishing facility in China that offers the most advanced technology, the most sophisticated systems, and the most expertise in production of this caliber.
