At GhostBed, we care about quality—not thread count. But what do we mean by that? Simply put, thread count is an industry standard that measures the number of vertical and horizontal cotton threads contained within one square inch of fabric. While it's easy to assume that a higher thread count means better sheets, this number doesn't take the quality of the fabric into account.

So here's what really matters: our sheets are made with a unique blend of 60% Supima cotton and 40% TENCEL™ fibers. They're plusher, more durable and will sleep cooler than conventional sheets. Since they are better than all-cotton sheets, thread count is not really an accurate measurement, but, if we were to compare, we would say that our sheets feel and function better than sheets claiming to have as much as a 600 thread count.

You may be tempted to throw a set of traditional king sheets on your split king bed, but that could be a mistake.

The main advantage of a split king bed is that each side can be adjusted independently, allowing each person to find their perfect sleeping position. Using regular king sized sheets can defeat the purpose of having a split king bed in the first place. If the same fitted sheet connects both sides of the bed, it will be much more difficult to adjust just one side of the bed. As a result, it's generally best to invest in a set of sheets specifically designed for use with a split king bed.

King-size bed sheets are designed to fit a standard king size mattress, which measures 76 by 80 inches long. A king sheet set typically includes one fitted sheet, one flat sheet and two pillowcases.

If you have a split king bed, which is two twin XL mattresses put together to form a king size bed, we recommend opting for the split king sheets. The set includes 2 twin XL fitted sheets and 1 king top sheet, along with 2 sets of pillowcases.

Sure! But it may cause some frustration. Suppose you have your Split King GhostSheets in the wash. In that case, it's totally okay to use a set of traditional king sheets in a pinch for a night or two. But remember, moving the foot and head of your bed can cause your traditional king sheets to stretch out, bunch up, pop off and disturb you throughout the night, so you won't want to make this a regular thing.
